    DAYTON/WAITSBURG­­-DW high school track team participated in their first meet of the season on Saturday, March 12, at Klicker Field in Walla Walla. It was a jamboree competition where athletes participated in only two events, unlike four in regular meets. Six Wolfpack athletes competed against Desales, College Place, Kennewick, and Wa-Hi.     The Matbirds had 12 wrestlers attend the Hanford-Reactor Rumble on Saturday, March 5. Six athletes brought home medals. Koyen Fortune placed 2nd and Bryon Collier placed 3rd in the 13/14 age bracket. Luke Collier and Rylie Coates both brought home 3rd place medals in the 11/12 age bracket.     DW Wolfpack middle school girls' basketball team played strong on both offense and defense on Tuesday, February 22, when they traveled to Liberty Christian in Walla Walla.     During National FFA week, February 19-26, Waitsburg members had dress-up days, Ag Olympics, a trap shoot meet, and the Harvest Ball. Monday, President's Day, the students did not have school.     WAITSBURG-Three Waitsburg kindergarteners are playing in the Walla Walla indoor soccer league at Blue Ridge Elementary. Coach Chelsie Abel also has one player from Dayton and five from Walla Walla on her team. The team practices once a week and plays games on Saturdays. They traveled to Rogers Adventist School in College Place on Monday, February 14th and lost 34-26. On Wednesday, February 16th, the Prescott Tigers came to Waitsburg.     What better way to enjoy the great outdoors than a day drive to the Tucannon Lakes or to Palouse Falls State Park.     Behind the scenes, progress has been continuing inside and outside the Waitsburg Weller Library since the new concrete floor was installed. Further improvements to the building to make the library ADA accessible, cleaning, and receipt of sizeable donations have transpired. Five library members spent almost four hours giving the library a good cleaning. Windows were shined, floors and carpets were cleaned, molding scrubbed, and shelves dusted.
