DAYTON - Trucks carrying wind turbine components began moving along Highway 12 through Waitsburg and Dayton last week on their way to the new Tucannon River Wind Project. The project is being constructed north of Dayton by Portland General Electric Co. DAYTON - A little rain and chilly weather only dampened spirits slightly during last weekend's 20th annual All Wheels Weekend event here. DAYTON - When you descend the stairs from the main level of the Dayton Memorial Library, you will enter what Jill Rourke, the new director of the Columbia County Rural Library District calls the "garden level." DAYTON - The Dayton Elementary School will introduce new multi-age classes next year, putting 2nd and 3rd graders into combined classes and 4th and 5th graders also into combined classes.
