    WAITSBURG - Walla Walla County Commissioners approved a grant recommendation from the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee to award a $3,000 grant to Waitsburg Celebration Days at their January 13 Board Meeting. The grant uses lodging tax proceeds to award funds to organizations that actively promote tourism. Priority is given to activities that increase tourism from November through March, increase overnight visitation to the Walla Walla Valley, and establish clear, meaningful, and measurable results of the proposed projects.     DAYTON - The Dayton School Board recently ap­proved a resolution allowing Dayton's football team to play 8-man football in the fall of 2014. The team will play members of the South­east Washington 1B 8-man league. According to Superin­tendent Doug Johnson, the move was made because of low turnout in recent years.
