WAITSBURG – The Waitsburg Planning Commission is now just one seat shy of being complete. At their regular March meeting, the Waitsburg City Council unanimously approved an application from Bill Rodgers to sit on the commission. YAKIMA – Seniors Landon Callas and Emily Adams put in strong performances at Waitsburg's first meet of the season at East Valley High School here Saturday. Callas won the 300-meter hurdles and placed second in the 110 hurdles. Adams placed second in the triple jump, third in the 800 Meters, fourth in the 3200 and 11th in the long jump. DAYTON – The Dayton Track team has many returning athletes to watch in 2017, says Coach Dan Nechodom. Twenty athletes will compete for Dayton this year, including just one freshman. Senior Cal Martin, who placed seventh at state in the javelin last year, returns as a team leader, and will continue to be tough in the field events. New Business: -Walla Walla County Sheriff John Turner gave a 2016 year-end update on sheriff’s office activity in Waitsburg. -The council unanimously approved resolution 2017-670, which approved the use of city streets for the annual Tour of Walla Walla bicycle race on April 21 and April 23. -The council voted to re-open elections from March 22-24, to accept declarations of candidacy for city council positions, due to a lack of candidate applicants to fill the vacant seats. I mentioned I would share the chicken enchiladas recipe this week, though I confess I did not make it. It came from All Recipes, with a 4.5 star and commented that it was an easy and quick dinner. I received the nicest phone call from a lady who told me she really likes the Frittata recipe, and shared that she added Italian seasoning (a tablespoon if I remember correctly).
