WAITSBURG - - Most Waitsburgers know Mickey Richards as "Izzy's Dad." But what many don't know is that the affable owner of the town's iconic dromedary is as good a dancer as he is a camel handler. If you'd have set foot in Walla Walla's Heath & Co. (now Barnabees) in the 1980s, chances are you'd have seen Richards practice or teach the two-step, waltz, polka or any country dance routine as often as six days a week. "I practically lived there," he said. "It was a bad day when it closed." But...

Through the ace pitching and great Tiger offense, it seemed the Pirates couldn't buy a run. Bartlow stole second base after a single in the third inning. A great hit... Full story

One of the common topics we seem to write about in the Times has been burglary. Frankly, I have been surprised by how many burglaries have been reported and actually taken place in our valley, specifically in Dayton. Also, offenders getting out of the state prison too early may be a factor, he said. Part of the reason burglary has also been in the limelight lately is because... Full story
