WAITSBURG – The 19th annual Tour of Walla Walla cycling stage race will begin early Friday in Waitsburg. More than 100 professional and amateur cyclists from throughout the northwest are expected to take part. The time trial stage, which in previous years was held on Saturday mornings, has been moved to Friday morning. In that event, participants start one at a time and race against the clock. WAITSBURG – Four Touchet Valley athletes have qualified for the Pasco Invite, which will be held Saturday at Edgar Brown Stadium. WAITSBURG - Waitsburg High School senior Owen Lanning was named one of twelve Athletes of the week earlier this month by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association for his performance in track and field. At the 80th annual Carnival of Speed in Milton-Freewater on April 3, Lanning won the 300 hurdles (44.21), place second in the 110 hurdles (16.67), was second in the triple jump (40-9) and fourth in the long jump (18-11) His 31 point total was the top male score at the 26-team meet....
