DAYTON – Columbia County Public Transportation will offer ride service on Saturdays starting June 3, both in Dayton and on a round-trip route from Dayton to Walla Walla. The decision to start this program was made in spite of CCPT not receiving a grant it had applied for to fund the service, according to Interim General Manager Dwight Robanske. DAYTON--An issue with barking dogs within the city limits was brought up by Public Works Director Jim Costello at last week’s Dayton City Council meeting. “People don’t like listening to other people’s dogs barking,” said Costello. CHENEY – Waitsburg senior Emily Adams dominated the long-distance events at the state 1B tournament here on Friday and Saturday. YAKIMA – The Dayton softball team traveled to Yakima to participate in the 2B state tournament on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs played three games before being knocked out of the tournament by Northwest Christian.
