    WAITSBURG – Waitsburg resident Mason J. Bates, 31, has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty in Walla Walla County Superior Court last week to multiple burglaries in his hometown at the end of last year. He will be on probation – community custody – for three years after his release from prison and must successfully complete a drug-offender treatment program. Bates had no prior felony convictions.     Ten Years Ago June 16, 2005 Army Master Sergeant Don Hollenbaugh received the Distinguished Service Cross, the second-highest commendation given, from Vice President Dick Cheney in a ceremony at Mac Dill Air Force Base, Tampa, Fla., last Friday afternoon. Hollenbaugh, 41, is the son of Don and Carol Hollenbaugh of Prescott, and the late Carole Hollenbaugh. He is a 1982 graduate of Prescott High School.     DAYTON – The Rocking D Riders Horse 4-H group in Dayton is offering a Family Horse Camp June 23-25 at the Columbia County Fairgrounds. The special instructor will be Tara Johnson. The cost is $30 per day, per person, or $20 per day, per person for the evening ride only.
