DAYTON—At their meeting last week at the Lyon’s Ferry Marina, Port of Columbia County commissioners Fred Crowe and Earle Marvin signed a three-year lease agreement with rail operator Frontier Rail LLC, to maintain and operate the rails for the newly named Columbia/Walla Walla shortline, between Dayton and Walla Walla. WAITSBURG – Area exhibitors showed their talents at the 62nd annual Waitsburg Livestock Show & Fair at the Waitsburg Fairgrounds last weekend, June 11 and 12. Elementary school students from Waitsburg and Prescott wrapped up their school year with a visit to the Bruce House Museum for Pioneer Day.
