    Rick Hamilton, a former WP coach, was appointed by the school board to the athletic director position for the Dayton School District on Wednesday, July 11. Dayton’s former athletic director, Jack Smiley, passed away in early May. Hamilton was the head WP soccer coach in 2010-11 and after the season he transferred to Arizona for a job opportunity.     WAITSBURG -- Waits- burg's own eight-year-old Mya Wood is heading to Tacoma this August for a chance to represent Washington State in the National American Miss pageant.     DAYTON -- Blue Moun- tain Counseling and the Columbia County Sheriff's Office have partnered up to create the team Full Throttle and to raise money for Relay for Life. They will be holding a Full Throttle fundraiser event Sunday from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at the Dayton Depot, Blue Mountain Counseling Administrative Assistant Michelle Swan said.
