Mayor Dunn waived fees for the July 13 event, but opted to follow the fee schedule for further events. New Business Representative Bill Jenkin (R-Prosser) provided a legislative session recap. He reminded the council that he is on the Housing, Community Development and Veterans (ranking minority m...

Located in downtown Toronto, Canada, the Hockey Hall of Fame is definitely worth a visit if you are a hockey fan. The museum takes up two floors. A special exhibit with a film covering the careers of Wayne Gretzky and Gordie Howe played on a loop. Another section covers hockey in the Olympic Games with jerseys representing each...

Whether rekindling a childhood fondness, or learning for the first time, riding a bike is always a good, easy choice to make. Besides the health benefits, cycling is just plain fun. The challenge lies in choosing the right bicycle. One straightforward method is to pick the same style bike as one’s riding companions. Mountain bikes and beach cruisers will never keep up with friends on road bikes on a paved trail, but road bikes can’t go on dirt or sand. If you, like a lone wolf, ride alone, con...

I debated about whether or not to rerun the recipe for the Lemon Refrigerator Cake, which is light and served chilled and always a hit, but this recipe showed up in my feed. Joe will tell you I prefer potatoes over pasta. For those who barbeque, I thought this would be a great accompaniment but it would go with any entrée. If the day is cool enough, it would be easy to make in the oven. I haven't tried it yet, but we have small Yukons in the refrigerator. Red potatoes are coming on and those are always good. Speaking of red potatoes, my mom...
WAITSBURG-A whopping 85 kids participated in last week's Mega Sports Camp Vacation Bible School at the Waitsburg Christian Church. More than 30 volunteers from the Waitsburg Christian Church, the Presbyterian Church, the Waitsburg Resource Center, The Bicycle Barn, the Christian Motorcyclist Association, and many others from five different communities, helped make the program a success, according to...
