    WAITSBURG - Waitsburg Friends of the Pool, Parks and Recreation, and Rural Youth Enrichment Services held a Rhythm and Fun Festival at the fairgrounds on Saturday, August 24. Over 100 people came to hear the live music, have dinner, play carnival games, and watch young banjo and fiddle contestants. The fundraiser for the pool raised $3,600.     Wanda passed away August 19, 2024, at Wheatland Village in Walla Walla, Washington. She was born February 15, 1939, in Union Oregon to Sylvia and Guy Hall. As a child she grew up in the Pacific Northwest in a large family, she was one of eleven children. Wanda married Joe Cobb June 22, 1955, and they were together until his passing in 1997.     WAITSBURG - Waitsburg Commercial Club President Tiffany Baxter initiated the officers in the Adopt a Highway program. Club officers Baxter, Karen Huwe, Judy Bennett, and Paul Mantz-Powers, with volunteer Bart Baxter, cleaned two miles along Highway 12 on Thursday, August 22.
