WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Downtown Farmers Market will offer a new benefit to SNAP/EBT (formerly known as food stamps) customers during Saturday markets through October. The program will resume in May and be offered for the entire 2016 farmer’s market season. DAYTON – The Dayton School District is looking for a director for the sixth-grade camp this school year, which will be held at the Camp Wooten Retreat Center in northeast Columbia County. The joint three-day camp, including Dayton and Touchet students, is held in May each year. Approximately 50 students are expected to attend this year’s camp. BENTON CITY – The Waitsburg Cardinals got their wings clipped by a dominant Kiona-Benton Team Friday night, losing 39-0. The defense for the Bears, a state Class 1A team, stifled the Cardinals’ passing attack. Quarterback Jacob Dunn was held to only 4 of 21 passing, for 39 yards. WAITSBURG – The Cards faced former teammates, the Prescott Tigers, for a home-court win on Thurs, Oct. 1. WAITSBURG – The Waitsburg Cardinals volleyball team is gearing up for their annual Pink Night Breast Cancer Fundraiser match, Oct. 22. Funds from the event will be donated to a local mom, currently undergoing breast cancer treatment. The Pink Night Match, against the DeSales Irish, will take place in the Waitsburg gymnasium on Thurs., Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. Both Waitsburg and DeSales volleyball team members are taking orders for T-shirts which cost $15, with $5 going toward the fundraiser. DAYTON – Watching a movie or live event at Dayton’s Liberty Theater will soon be even more enjoyable than it already was.
