DAYTON - The Dayton schools were locked down on Nov. 5 for about 15 minutes after a man and woman were seen exiting the locker room at the Dayton High School gym. John P. Gant, 30, and Heather N. Dame, 26, were arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree theft, and possession of stolen property in the third degree. DAYTON - Out of 2,482 total votes cast on ballots counted so far for the Columbia County Hospital District levy in last week's election, the measure has received 1,489 votes to approve and 993 votes to reject.
