    WAITSBURG – According to Operation Christmas Child shoebox media coordinator Fay Smith, this was a big year this year’s collection drive, coordinated by Samaritan’s Purse, which culminated Thanksgiving week. A record 18,084 gift-filled Christmas Shoeboxes were given by residents of Dayton, Waitsburg, the Tri-Cities, and eastern Oregon.   • Historic Dayton Films to be Shown

    DAYTON – The Blue Mountain Heritage Society will present a preview of historic films of Dayton on December 10. The presentation will be in conjunction with the society’s annual meeting, which will be held at the Delany room in the Dayton Memorial Library.
