    DAYTON – The Dayton girls’ basketball team picked up its first two wins in the new Eastern Washington Athletic Conference last week, downing Walla Walla Valley Academy at home, 50-42 on Tuesday, and then trouncing Kittitas, 56-20, on the road.     WWVA 55, DAYTON 50 DAYTON – The Dayton boys’ basketball team hosted Walla Walla Valley Academy on Dec. 13, and came up short after a hard-fought battle, losing 55-50. The Bulldogs fell behind early and couldn’t close the gap, despite a fourth-quarter rally. Dayton trailed 31-21 at the half and entered the fourth quarter down 42-30.     Community members enjoyed a winter program by Waitsburg Elementary Students in the WHS auditorium on Dec. 19. Kindergarten students sang SANTA, Hello, Reindeer, and We All Clap Hands Together. The first grade sang Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bells, and I've Got Peace in My Fingers.
