    WALLA WALLA-Providence St. Mary Medical Center has donated $15,000 to the Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) for its new Community Service Center. BMAC has purchased an 11,000-square-foot building on Second Ave. which will be remodeled to be used as the new service center.     WAITSBURG—The Prescott Joint Park and Recreation District received a $50,000 Sherwood Trust Core Grant to aid with pool repairs and facility improvements earlier this month. The District was one of 12 area organizations to receive grant distributions totaling $949,000.     PRESCOTT—As the only area pool open last week, aside from Walla Walla, a flex pipe leak was the last thing the Prescott pool needed. Nonetheless, quick thinking by pool staff and help from Dunning Irrigation made for a quick repair and only two-day downtime.     WAITSBURG-Facebook was filled with posts of multiple sightings of a mama bear and cub on the southeast end of Waitsburg on the evening of June 13.     DAYTON—On Monday the BOCC adopted Resolution 2019-34 establishing a countywide Flood Control Zone District (FCZD) and Resolution 2019-35 adopting a ballot measure establishing a general excess levy for the operations and maintenance of that District.
