STARBUCK-Zonia Dedloff was appointed mayor at a special city council meeting on Sept. 22. She replaces Richard Ells, who has resigned, in part, for health reasons. City Clerk, Jan Ells, has also turned in her resignation, effective Sept. 30. The Ells are planning on traveling and enjoying their retirement. Zonia Dedloff has lived in Starbuck for fifty years. STARBUCK-With generous donations from Columbia Pulp and the Blue Mountain Community Foundation, the Starbuck School District is now able to provide 37 K-8 graders with lunches, five days a week, until the end of the school year, according to Martha Lanman Columbia County Public Health Director. STARBUCK—The startup process for Columbia Pulp continues, with the business announcing on Friday, September 13th that contractor Allnorth Engineers signed off on mechanical completion of the pulp mill, and that general contractor PCI has completed their work and exited the site.
