They will gladly accept pre-packed shoeboxes or individual items that could be packed in a box for a girl or boy in need. WAITSBURG – Robbie Skiles is seeking a volunteer to take over as Site Manager for the Senior Round Table (Meals on Wheels) luncheon served every Tuesday at noon at the Waitsburg Presbyterian Church. The community event is provided by the Walla Walla Senior Center and provides 5-6 meals to homebound clients and on-site servings of approximately 20 meals each week. “The lunch gives our seniors a chance to visit and eat a nourishing meal. SE WASHINGTON – The Washington Dept. of Natural Resources currently has funding targeting the health of forest land in eastern Washington available for cost-share fuel reduction projects. The goal of the program is to improve forest health and reduce the risk of damage from wildfire and forest insects. The Blue Mountain Resource Conservation and Development Council is assisting by providing outreach, education, and workshops in Asotin, Columbia, Garfield, and Walla Walla counties. Dear Editor, Rebecca and I would like to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, support, and flowers. We are truly blessed to have all you in our lives. DAYTON – At their regular meeting on Oct. 19, the Dayton School Board approved establishing a high school varsity and JV Baseball Combine with Waitsburg schools. The Waitsburg School Board has approved the combine as well. According to Dayton school superintendent Doug Johnson, all practices and games will be held in Dayton at the school’s athletic complex.
