Community groups, clubs and businesses are invited to participate in the event that kicks off on Dec. 6, during Waitsburg’s Hometown Christmas. Trees will be lit from Dec. 6 – Dec. 31. FFA provides extension cords, tree stands, and trees and the entrant provides their own lights and decorations.     WASHINGTON – A Walla Walla Public Schools newsletter states that seven of 10 school construction bonds are failing across the state. The trend is consistent with low approval numbers over the last seven years, according to the report. Construction bonds require a 60% supermajority in order to pass.     AAUW (American Association of University Women) is now accepting scholarships to provide assistance to women who have completed at least one year of college (30 semester credits) and with to complete their undergraduate or post-graduate studies.
