14-18Cycle Oregon takes place this week. Over 2,000 bicyclists
will tour the area as they ride from Clarkston, through Pomeroy and Starbuck, to Waitsburg on their way to the 100th anniversary of the Pendleton Roundup. This weeklong ride begins and ends in Elgin, Ore., and covers about 450 miles. They will arrive in the Touchet Valley on Tuesday, the 14th, and will have the option of leaving Wednesday for a 45-mile loop through Walla Walla or staying to visit in Waitsburg. 15Wheat, Wine and Wheels takes place Sept. 15, during Cycle Oregon, from 2-5 p.m. on the grounds of the historic Bruce Memorial Museum on Main Street in Waitsburg. Taste award-winning wines from more than 25 wineries from Walla Walla while you relax and enjoy Bruce Mansion, a local landmark on the historic register. Ticket price includes ten scripts, which will be used to "purchase" tasting samples. Additional scripts for additional tastings may be purchased on site (cash only please). Food will be available for purchase with scripts. Any proceeds will go to benefit Bruce House, which is maintained solely through donations.
Tickets are $30 each, with advance payment required. There are only 300 tickets available. Additional tickets may be purchased at the door for $35 if there is room. Please mail checks made out to Waitsburg Winetasting

18Dayton: Relay for Life will take place Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 18 from 3 p.m. all night until Sunday, Sept. 19, at 7:30 a.m. at the Dayton High School Athletic Complex. Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature event that brings more than 3.5 million people from 4,900 communities across the country together each year to celebrate the lives of those who have battled

1938th Annual Pioneer Fall Festival Buffalo Feed takes place at the Bruce House Museum on 4th and Main in Waitsburg from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This family-friendly event is sponsored by the Waitsburg Historical Society. Community church services begins at 11 a.m. followed by the honoring of the Pioneer of the Year. Arts, crafts, vendors and demonstrations will take place all afternoon as well as live local music. 2553rd Annual Salmon Barbecue takes place in the Don Thomas Community Building at the Waitsburg Fairgrounds at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m. This will be a casual evening of great food and fun presented by Waitsburg's Commercial Club and Lions Club. Food will include fresh salmon cooked over a barbecue pit filled with hardwood coals and served with a secret recipe sauce, baked potato, coleslaw, garlic bread and condiments. Studio as well as the Dayton Historic Depot and Delany Building, and Mrs Mc's Antiques during this weekend event. The Art Walk will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with the artists reception at the Historic Depot from 4-6 p.m. Meet the participating artists and relax with music, hors d'oeuvres, and wine tasting; there will be no fee for the reception.
