Local Man Arrested

WAITSBURG - Twenty-three-year old Waitsburg man Keith Eugene Adams was arrested early Friday morning at his Preston Avenue home after allegedly holding a 21-year-old woman and her two infant children at gun point.

Witness information conveyed that Adams was "extremely agitated and intoxicated," the Walla Walla County Sheriff's office reported. Deputies learned that Adams and the victim had a previous relationship and appear to have a child together.

The Walla Walla Emergency Response Unit responded to the location at about 1 a.m. to contain and negotiate the situation.

Communication was established with Adams and shortly thereafter he released the female victim. However, Adams still held the two children hostage in the residence with him. After four hours, at approximately 5 a.m., Adams voluntarily surrendered to the authorities.

After the subject was taken into custody, a search of the residence revealed a Smith and Wesson pistol. No one was injured during the incident.

Adams was transported to the Walla Walla County Jail and booked on the following charges: Assault 1st, Unlawful Imprisonment, and Harassment.
