Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg-Prescott Cardinals went 7-0 Friday night after beating Tri Cities Prep 28-7 in a festive Homecoming game.
Kris Cady, Dalton Estes, T.J. Hofer and Quarterback Zach Bartlow each scored touchdowns, while the Cardinals' defense allowed only one Jaguars touchdown.
For WP, the game was a mixture of opportunities, penalties (some of which brought back touchdowns) and turnovers made up for by more turnovers won on TCP.
quot;It was a great Homecoming night win,quot; head coach Jeff Bartlow said. quot;We played extremely hard. We outhit them.quot;
WP scored two additional touchdowns - one by Cady and one by Bartlow - that were called back because of holding calls against the Cardinals.
Cardinals Shane Eastman, Morgan Robinson, Eshom Estes, Tre Brannock, David Brock and Trevor Van Drew all had a great night on defense, while Bartlow, Cady, Estes, Hofer and Anthony Powell excelled on offense.
One of the highlights was an interception by Cady just as the Jaguars trheatened to score from the red zone position of 1st and goal. Cady ran it all the way back to the TCP 46-yard line.
