Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
DAYTON - The Dayton Bulldogs Varsity volleyball team forfeited their match against DeSales Thursday night following a school disciplinary action that suspended the entire team. The forfeiture means the Bulldogs automatically lose their match against the Irish, whom they beat earlier in the season. This may affect their rankings in the league and seating in the district playoffs despite their otherwise winning record. The school district's disciplinary action was effective only for the game against DeSales and necessary so the players could reflect on their behavior, head coach Shannon Turner said. The reason for the suspension was not disclosed.
