MILTON-FREEWATER - The Cardinals and Tigers aren't the only undefeated WP teams so far this year. The WP Mustangs added to their perfect record last Thursday with a 28-0 win over the Central Middle School Jaguars. Led once more by Chance Leroue and Daniel Stansell, the Mustangs had an impressive night in Milton-Freewater with important contributions from Talen Larsen, Owen Lanning, Devin Ocevedo and Luke Alexenko. Right out of the gate, the Mustangs picked up their first points with a 46-yard touchdown run from Leroue, who secured the 2-point conversion to put WP ahead 8-0. The Cougars made some progress down the field on their next possession and made it through midfield until Ocevedo intercepted a pass on the 40-yard line and ran it back into the end zone for the Mustangs' second touchdown. The next touchdown came 5:24 minutes before the half, after Leroue rushed for 29 yards to the Cougars' 11-yard line and Stansell finished it off with the score. At the start of the fourth quarter, Alexenko moved the drive along with a 15-yard run to the Central 24-yard line. Leroue and Stansell followed up with shorter runs until the Mustangs fumbled the ball in the end zone and recovered it for a touchdown with 3:29 minutes to go.
