The Dayton Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet at the Seneca Activity Center, themed "We Are Thankful," takes place Thursday, Nov. 4. artists Anne Bullock, of Walla Walla's Dancing Wind Studio, and Yuri Kinoshita, from Woven Light in Seattle. Opening Night and Artists' Reception takes place Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. Art talks by both artists begin at 6 p.m. A panel discussion of Interwoven will take place Friday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. This will give guests an opportunity to view the exhibition, "Interwoven," through the eyes of a writer, artist and scientist. Willow has invited Linda Andrews, a writer; Dawn Forbes, an artist; and Machelle Hartman, a scientist, to share their responses to "Interwoven." Each presenter will take a few minutes to react to the body of work from their unique experience, education and perception. Talks begin at 6 p.m.
Walla Faces Tasting Salon, on Main Street in Walla Walla, will present a weekend
of music and wine Nov. 5 and 6. Autumn Release Weekend Events will include: Friday Night the salon will introduce singer/songwriter Joe Keown, who has an "Americana feel," from 6-8 p.m .; Saturday night will be local legend Burle Craven and his blues tunes from 6-8 p.m. No cover charge either night. Fort Walla Walla Museum announces a Special Exhibit premier starting Friday, Nov. 5, and running through Thursday, Dec. 23. An Olde-Fashioned Christmas will feature enlargements from the museum's

The Friends of the DaytonMemorial Library announce their semi-annual book sale, Nov. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Delany Room of the Dayton Memorial Library. Proceeds benefit the rural library district. Besides books, there will also be stuffed animals and other donated items. The next book sale will be in the spring. Date not yet set. Toastmasters International offers a leadership and personalgrowth event intended to introduce people to the toastmasters program at the facilities conference room of the Walla Walla Airport on Nov. 6 from 2-3 p.m. Toastmasters is a nonprofit group whose focus is on improving the communication
and leadership skills of its members. Presently three clubs operate in Walla Walla. This event's keynote speaker is Maureen Walsh, 16th District State Representative. She will discuss how the core principles of Toastmasters can enhance a person's experiences with other people. 7 A Ski Bluewood Job Fair will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Nov. 7 at the Seneca Activity Center, 103 Labor Camp Road in Dayton. The resort hopes to fill about 60 positions, including six to 10 lift operators, six to 10 kitchen workers, eight to 12 employees for the rental shop, pub staff, ticket sellers and 30 - 40 ski instructors.
10 Waitsburg High School will be honoring the veterans
of the Waitsburg community on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. Ells Bartlow, father of Waitsburg teacher Jeff Bartlow, will be the honored speaker. The community is invited to this event.

November 12 is opening night of Meredith Willson's
"The Music Man" at Dayton's Liberty Theater downtown. Showtime is 7 p.m. This live performance features a cast of dozens of local actors and actresses and musicians. Touchet Valley

The annual Blue MountainChorus of Sweet Adelines show, "KICKIN' IT UP A NOTCH!" will take place Friday and Saturday, Nov. 12 and 13 at 8 pm in the Performing Arts Auditorium at Walla Walla Community College. The Show has a country flair and features talented local performers Kevin Loomer, Katie Christianson, Joe Cooke and George Kovach in addition to the Blueprint Quartet and the Blue Mountain Chorus. 14 Join the Walla Walla Sweets Roller Girls for the "Final Crush of the Season." These local derby girls will take on the Rolling Hills Derby Dames of Pullman, Wash., on Nov. 14 at Walla Walla's YMCA, 340 S. Park St. Doors open at 2 p.m. and the bout starts at 3 p.m. sharp. Veterans Coalition of Southeast Washington's Blue Mountain Stand Down 2010 will be Wednesday,
Nov.17, at the National Guard Armory, 113 South Colville Street, Walla Walla. The 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. event is for all military veterans, with a special invitation to homeless veterans. Those attending and needing help should bring their military papers, if available. Free services provided include eye exams, dental exams, Veterans Benefit Officers, P.T.S.D. Counseling, employment services, haircuts, showers, and help obtaining discharge papers, health screening and more. Hygiene products will also be provided. Dayton's Annual Christmas Kickoff Event downtown Nov. 26 and 27.On the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving visitors can enjoy "The Town That Still Believes" through a rich tradition of activities including holiday barrel tasting, mule drawn hay rides, classic Main Street shopping, and a lighted Friday night parade. The Liberty Theater will show a family movie on Friday, and Saturday the live theater production of "The Music Man" takes place. This will be the second year of the lighted parade at 6 p.m., sponsored by Inland Cellular, followed by Friday-night fireworks at 7 p.m. sponsored by Pacific Power, with a backdrop of the oldest courthouse in the state. Downtown Dayton's Classic Main Street Shopping features food, crafts, and late-night Christmas shopping. Dayton's Historic Depot will feature artisan gifts and homemade candies. Santa will be in town on Friday and Saturday, and visits are free. For pictures with Santa, you can either take your own or support Relay for Life with a $5 donation, and they will take it for you.
