ALUMNI TO HEAT UP BB COURT
DAYTON - Dayton High School has invited its alumni back to their alma mater for two basketball games on Dec. 27.
Although Scott Hudson, girls basketball coach, isn't sure if this is the first time Dayton's organized alumni basketball games, he says the plan is to present this event each basketball season around the holidays.
"Many graduate athletes are home from college as well as the many graduates that still live or have family here and are visiting for the holidays," he said. "We have talked about hosting this event for a couple years, and it was decided to kick it off this year as we had an opening for a game in our schedule."
WIAA rules require that Dayton count this as one of its allowed 20 regular season games and that the school have the games officiated by the Blue Mountain Officials Association. But there will be no charge for admission to the games.
"The teams and the district would like to gift the community with a great evening of entertainment as a thank you and to show appreciation for all the great support shown our school and teams," Hudson said.
Game times for the event are 6 p.m. for the ladies and 7:30 p.m. for the men. If any alumni are interested in kicking the dust off and lacing up their old basketball shoes or putting on their old cheerleader outfit and cheering on the teams, we would like to hear from you.
Please contact head girls' coach Scott Hudson at 382- 3120, girls' assistant coach Nikki Fullerton at 382-2172, or head boys' coach Roy Ramirez at 509-843-0100.

However, a special pre-release edition DVD of the film is available exclusively to those who attended the screening here in Waitsburg. The screening raised over $600 toward new computers for the library.
