Clifford I. Henze

Clifford I. Henze died December 19, 2010, in Kennewick, Washington. He was 93 years old.

Clifford was born on October 31, 1917, in Highland, Missouri, to Fred and Buelah Henze. He graduated from Mendon High School in 1936.

After graduating, Clifford worked in farming. He married Irene Echternkamp on February 21, 1940. They were married for 56 years before her passing in 1996. They had four children together.

Clifford served his country in the United States Army working as a nurse. He was trained as a surgeon's assistant in Battle Creek, Michigan. Clifford also worked for JL Case as a farm equipment salesman and a mechanic.

Clifford loved fishing, camping, hunting and playing Yahtzee with his family and grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father. He was independent and he mellowed with age.

Clifford is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Harold and Ruth Henze of Quincy, IL, sister-in-law Ardith Henze of Waitsburg, WA, son and daughter-inlaw Clifford and Virginia Henze, daughters Sandra and Kenny Lightfoot, Janet and Charles Maynard, Dorothy Ross, as well as his seven grandchildren: Bob, Lianna, Lisa, Mike, Cyndi, Chuck, Beverly, and his seven greatgrandchildren.

Clifford was preceded in death by his wife Irene Henze, brothers Carl and Kenny Henze, and his parents Fred and Beulah Henze, his halfbrother Art Henze and halfsister Vera Ellis.

Services were Thursday, December 23, at Columbia Memorial Chapel with graveside services at Columbia Memorial Gardens.
