POLICE NOTES

1-10: Burglary. Residents on W. 2nd Street in Waitsburg reported a burglary in their home on Monday. They believe the suspect entered through a basement window. The back door was open and their dog was out when they arrived home. The suspect pried open a safe and took $1,000 cash and collectible coins. An empty prescription drug bottle was left on the floor.

1-9: Trespassing. Disturbance reported on N. Touchet Road, Dayton. Deputies responded and the subject was arrested for trespassing and malicious mischief.

Collision. A vehicle slid on ice and rolled as it traveled down Middle Waitsburg Road. The passenger was taken to Walla Walla General Hospital with minor injuries. The driver was cited for DUI.

Reckless Endangerment. While on scene with a roll-over accident on Middle Waitsburg Road, emergency personnel narrowly escaped injury as a full-sized bronco blew through the scene, just missing emergency officers and a patrol car on the side of the road with emergency lights on. The bronco driver lost control, and the vehicle rolled several times coming to rest on its top. The driver and one passenger were able to get out on their own, but one passenger was removed by emergency personnel and transported to St. Marys with minor injuries. The driver was cited for DUI and reckless endangerment of emergency zone workers.

Animal Stray. A black female dog with three pups was reported on Wolf Fork Road, Dayton. The animals were too skittish to catch.

1-7: Theft. Report of a wallet stolen while in weight room at Dayton High School.

1-6: Theft. Gas drive off reported on W. Main Street, Dayton.

Accident. Report of vehicle off road on Bramhall Road, Dayton. No one around.

1-5: Traffic Hazard. Report of vehicles not slowing down in school zone on S. 3rd Street, Dayton.

Fraud. Possible attempted telephone scam reported on E. Main Street, Dayton.

Theft. Information given to deputies about a stolen gun on Bruce Street, Dayton.

Accident. Non-injury accident reported on S. 2nd Street, Dayton. A vehicle backed into a FedEx truck at the post offi ce .

Disorderly. Disorderly male reported at Dayton Mercantile .

1-4: Hit and Run. Hit and run on S. 4th Street, Dayton, reported. A pickup backed over a fence.

Fraud. Suspicious letter received in Country Village Court, Dayton.

Theft. Theft of golf cart reported on Whitman Avenue, Dayton.
