Suspicious Midnight Fire Destroys Waitsburg Garage And Two Cars

Andy and Pam Hermanns lost their entire detached garage and two vehicles to a suspicious fire at their residence on West Second Street, in Waitsburg, just before midnight on Tuesday. A Walla Walla County Sheriff 's deputy driving by woke the Hermanns from "a dead sleep" to alert them of the danger. No one was injured, and the fire did not spread to the house or any other structures nearby. The cause of the fire is under investigation. "The deputy told us he saw a kid running away from the house as he approached," Pam Hermanns said. No further details were known by early Wednesday morning.
