Prescott resident Sterling T. Stapleton has been charged with leading authorities on a high-speed chase Saturday night involving speeds over 80 mph and a single-vehicle crash (the suspect's truck) at the Highway 12 and Middle Waitsburg Road intersection. Stapleton was charged in Walla Walla Superior Court Monday with attempting to elude a pursuing police vehicle, driving while under the influence, second-degree driving with a suspended or revoked license and driving in violation of an ignition interlock restriction.
