Dayton Mayor Craig George presents a plaque to Frank Trimarche during Monday night's city council meeting, thanking the retiring, longtime Dayton man for 24 years of service in the public works department as head of equipment maintenance. Public Works Director Jim Costello was on hand to tell stories of Trimarche's dedication to the job: "One day we had an accident up at the cemetery, where basically the lawnmower fell off a cliff. We stood looking down at it, and I mean, it looked like the Titanic at the bottom of the ocean. Frank comes on the scene and gets down on one knee to look at it, and he looks up and says, 'I think I can fix it boss.'" Dayton resident and owner of Skyline Parts Dave Schreck took the recognition further: "What Frank's done over the years has been absolutely amazing. What the city of Dayton has in the way of equipment is just junk, and we have Frank to thank for keeping it running. My hat's off to him."
