Dayton Hosts Six Teams At Invite

DAYTON - Dayton's Seth Jackson won the men's 3200-meter distance event during last Wednesday's Dayton Invite, a meet of six teams that also saw excellent performances from Courtney Fuller, Josh Frame, Briana Fulbright and the women's relay team.

" Overall, it was real good," Dayton head track and field coach Shannon Turner said. "It's was only the second time for the girls' relay time to compete and I think they were pleased with their time."

That team, which included runners Fulbright, Fuller, Ashley Myrick and Samura Miller, placed fourth in the 4 x 100 with a time of 58.84.

Fuller placed fourth in the 100 meters, while Davy Philips got seventh in that sprint competition. Elise Button won third in the 800 and 1600-meter runs.

For the men, Josh Frame grabbed third placed in shot. Anita Jackson scored sixth in discus for the women's throwing in that event.

Fulbright was third in the high jump, improving her personal best to 4'8" from 4'4," and Fuller placed third in the long jump with a distance of 13' 4."

Six teams participated in the event, including River View, Asotin, St. John-Endicott/ LaCross Washtucna, Walla Walla Valley Academy, Columbia-Burbank and Dayton, the host.

River View won the event in the men's varsity with 278 points, while St. John- Endicott/LaCross Washtucna got the title for the women's varsity with 242 points.
