Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
Travis Weedman, 42, of Waitsburg died on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Travis will be remembered as an outspoken, strong seeker of truth, a wealth of information about garlic farming and a loyal friend.
If there was something that needed to be done, you could count on him to do it. He valued his friends and family, and wanted to please everyone.
Travis loved the town of Waitsburg - the farmers were (as he put it) his kind of people. And he loved to learn. He went to school to be a machinist, a truck driver, and a massage therapist and was good at all of them. But his true love was growing garlic. He could tell you more about the hundreds of varieties of garlic than most of us knew existed!
Travis is survived by his wife Shelly Weedman, his mother Gloria and stepfather Don Bailey, sister Caprice Logan, his niece Bailey, nephews Hunter and Harrison Logan, his father Leroy Hickenbottom, his aunt and uncle Teresa and Cal Burns, two cousins Russell and Andrew Burns, and his companion, Luna.
Travis was preceded in death by his foster father and mentor Allen R. Mattison.
