Irish Win Doubleheader

PRESCOTT- The WP Tigers lost a double header to the Desales Irish last Tuesday in Prescott.

The Irish held a two run lead until the bottom of the fourth when Tre Brannock hit an RBI double scoring the Tigers first run.

By the bottom of the sixth the Irish lead 4-1. Zach Bartlow took a freebee from the Irish mound followed by a single from Dalton Estes. Another Brannock RBI and a hit from Matt Hamilton put two more runs on the board for the Tigers but they came up short losing the opener 4-3 .

The Tigers gave up four runs by the third inning of the second game. They scored one run in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI from Hamilton.

Hamilton collected his third RBI of the day in the bottom of the sixth to cut the Irish lead 6-2.

A fielding error and a line drive to left field scored another run for the Irish in the top of the seventh.

Down 7-2 the Tigers were in desperate need of rattling the bats but suffered three up, three down and lost the night cap 7-2.

"There was definitely a lack of focus and fire," said head coach Dustin Snedigar.

"These double headers can be long days and we just came out flat in the second game. We practice too good to play this flat."
