WAITSBURG - Three Waitsburg ensembles performed in Tuesday night's " Under My Umbrel la" Spring Concert.
The Wai tsburg High School Chorus opened the evening with a harmonious rendition of "Star-Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key as everyone saluted the flag.
Seventh and eighth-grade musicians from Preston Hall launched their series with "Little English Suite" by Leroy Jackson, followed by "Tribal Drums" by David Shaffer, "Coronado Spanish March by Eric Osterling and "Afterburn!" by Randall Standridge.
For the transition to the Waitsburg High School band's repertoire, the middle schoolers played "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black-Eyed Peas with them.
The high school group then played " Under The Boardwalk" by Artie Resnick and Kenny Young; "Down To The River" by Alison Krauss; "Singin' In The Rain" by Christopher Stewart and Nacio Herb Brown; and "Don't Stop Believin' " by Perry, Schon and Cain.
Music teacher Brad Green took the opportunity to thank Ed Lawrence for a number of the band program's instruments he helped fund, including the most recent glockenspiel, and Robbie Johnson and the Commercial Club for the band's new uniform polo shirts, which the students will wear in the Waitsburg Parade.
