Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
Dear Editor:
I wish to express the City's appreciation for the extra service of it's great employees while recently joining in the joint project with the Commercial Club of the "City Clean Up" on May 18th. The City employees were outstanding in their efforts to do the best job possible ! It was through the extra efforts of Dan Katsel, supervisor, Travis Newman, Jeff Hofer, John Langford, the "crew" and the staff at City Hall, Randy Hinchliffe and Kelly Steinhoff that our city streets and park looked wonderful for the Parade-Waitsburg. I was extremely pleased with the results of the project.
Also I want to thank the Fire Dept for cleaning the downtown sidewalks on May 14th. You did great!
Without the extra help of some of the members of the Commercial Club this task could not have been completed. I thank each of you for your donation to the cause. They are:
Orville Branson-driver; Ivan Keve-spotter; Skip Carpenter, labor and tractor; Jim Burres, labor and loan of a truck; Howard Smith Ranch, loan of a truck; Neil Carpenter, loan of a truck; Glen Smith, offer of truck and for his help in locating another truck
Robbie Johnson, for his tireless efforts, above and beyond, by assisting with the loading of trucks.
Over 40 loads of brush etc. were hauled to our dump center. These services were provided at no extra cost, which I have learned is an exception for a community our size. Thank you all again. You make me proud to be Mayor of this "One of a Kind" City.
Sincerely,
Walt Gobel, Mayor
