"How Can I Encourage My Friends To Show Pride In Being An American?"
I can encourage my friends to show pride in being an American by not talking bad about our country, the military and its soldiers; by respecting the flag; and realizing how lucky we are to live in America.
When I am with my friends I talk positive about the military and how they fight for our freedom. My friends need to remember that everyday men and women are risking their lives for our freedom.
When I am with my friends and we see a soldier I go up to them and say thank you, hopefully setting a good example for my friends. My friends need to think of how hard it must be for soldiers and their families knowing that they are risking their life for us daily when serving in the military, especially when on active duty .
When I am at sporting events with my friends and the announcer asks that we rise to say the Pledge of Allegiance I make my friends stand up if they haven't already done so. Always look at the flag and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with pride, and never good off when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. When handling a flag be respectful and careful.
My friends need to realize how lucky we are to live in America. We live in a country with freedom. We can vote for leaders of government, such as the President of the United States, senators, governors and even local leaders. I can encourage my friends, when of age, to take part in being an American by voting for whom and what they believe in.
Lastly, my friends can show more pride in being an American by following laws and doing what is right. Our country would be better off if everyone chose to always abide by the laws and do what is legal and morally right.
