Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
Dear Editor:
I have been a subscriber to the Times since we bought our house in Walla Walla over a year ago.
We love your town; it just didn't work for our situation to live there instead of here.
However, I greatly admire the advances you have made in covering local news. Folks like the wheat farmers get way too little recognition for their hard work and commitment, and the past few issues of the Times have highlighted their ongoing efforts.
It was interesting to me to read numerous articles about neighbors helping each other in a variety of ways, then to read about the ongoing "yard sale." I absolutely agree with Kelly Steinhoff's assessment: If a traveler's first exposure to Waitsburg is something like a yard full of junk, there are only a few observations they can make, and most of them are negative. The owner of that property seems to be resistant to the quality of life in Waitsburg. Rather, he is shutting down the mess only because he is leaving town. I hope that the city's effort to enforce the Nuisance Code will be successful!
Thanks for the continuing great coveragehellip;and good luck to all the Waitsburgers as you continue to make your town an even better place to visit.
