Dayton Tour OnSpend the afternoon touring historic homes and local businesses, taste wine and food from the area and participate in the unveiling of the sign restoration project. The event takes place at the Historic Depot. To make a reservation or for more information, call 382-2026.

Art Show & Reception 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wenaha Gallery 219 E. Main Street, Dayton Meet artist Sherry Orchard and see her portrayals of wildlife and landscapes painted with acrylics on feathers. For more information, call the gallery at 382- 2124.

Tire Recycling 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Waitsburg Fairgrounds Free recycling of 10 tires for residents of Walla Walla County. Only tires from passenger, light truck and motorcycle vehicles will be accepted. No rims.

4-Club Trap Shoot 1 p.m. Touchet Valley Golf Course Dayton 382-4851 This annual golf event was started by the late Harry Gladden and continues to be held in his memory. A $15 registration fee includes dinner at the Sand Trap restaurant. This event is open to the public.

The B Side at Liberty Theater 7:30 p.m. Liberty Theater, Dayton The B Side, a jazz, blues

and rock band, will play live at the theater as part of Dayton on Tour. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at libertytheater.org.

essert Banquet & Fundraiser Dayton Young Life 4 p.m. Running T Ranch 802 N. Touchet Rd., Dayton Come enjoy a piece of homemade pie and learn about Young Life and Wyldlife programs in the community. Living History Performance David Venneri & Doug Saturno 2 p.m. Fort Walla Walla Museum Venneri and Saturno will portray Italian immigrants & farmers Frank Orselli & Pasquale Saturno beginning the community's week-long Italian Heritage Celebration. ayton Task Force Meeting 5 p.m. Delany Building, Dayton Dayton's Task Force was recently awarded a $25,000 grant from Sherwood Trust in Walla Walla to use in the planning of the historic corridor for the area between Commercial Street and Main Street from the river to Fifth Street. Under

the chairmanship of Marcene Hendrickson and with a sub-committee composed of Jacqui Wooten, Bill Clemens and Trina Cole, the architecture landscaping firm from Eugene Oregon, DLA was chosen from a long list of well qualified candidates to lead us in the plan. Starting Monday, Oct. 3 and running through Wednesday, Oct.5, the DLA team will be in town holding Town Hall-style public meetings at the Delany building for the community, City Council, business and property owners. They are planning lunch meetings (bring your own) all three days, and also a meeting Monday night at 5. During the week, they will be meeting with stakeholders and conducting at least two walking tours of the area.

Flu Shot Clinic Dayton Senior Center 4-3 E. Patit St. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This clinic is for adults, those sages 19 and older. The cost is $30 and Medicare, Medicaid and private payment

First Thursday Concert AnnRene Joseph, soprano singer 12:15 p.m. St. Paul's Episcopal Church 323 Catherine St., Walla Walla Joseph will sing classical and folk music. Money raised at the event will benefit Pantry Shelf and Christian Aid Center. There is no admission fee, but donations are welcome.

ion's Club Dinner & Dancing

Prescott Lion's Club

Tickets for an evening of dinner and dancing are $25 per person, or $40 for a couple. That ticket gets you a pulled pork or barbecue chicken dinner. Drinks will be available as well. Dinner is from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and the band Frog Hollow will play after. Money raised will go to repair the Lion's Club building and to its charities. Tickets are limited and will be sold beforehand. Frenchtown Cultural Gathering & Salmon Feed 4 p.m. Frenchtown Hall, Lowden a celebration will be held to raise funds to preserve and enhance the Frenchtown Historic Site, important community asset, and to honor those who lived and fought there. The celebration will include a Salmon Feast cooked by the Confederated tribes of the Umatilla Reservation, talks by members of the Frenchtown Historical Foundation and local tribes, entertainment including tribal drummers and dancers, a French- Canadian fiddle band, dancing, an auction and displays. The requested donation for tickets is $25 per person. They are available at Destination Walla Walla, located at 26 East Main St. in Walla Walla, or from members of the Frenchtown Historical Foundation.

Marilyn: Forever Blonde Red Carpet Gala

Power House Club

The Power House Club is holding a red carpet gala for the opening of its show Marilyn: Forever Blonde. Main floor seating is $110 and balcony seating is $85. Tickets are limited. The event is black tie optional and will have a reception with champagne and hors d'oeuvres, the show and a post-show cocktail and dessert reception with actress Sunny Thompson.

Kevin Carson Book Signing

Kevin Carson, author of the just released book "The Long Journey of the Nez Perce", will be at the Wenaha Gallery to discuss his work. At 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct.15, Kevin will take a break from signing books to give a presentation about his research on Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce people's heroic march "from Cottonwood to Bear Paw."
