DONNA LUVERNE PRICE KEENEY

Donna Luve rne Price Keeney passed away at Providence St. Mary Medical Center on September 24, 2011, at the age of 79 years. At her request, there will be no memorial service. Inurnment will be private.

Donna was born July 31, 1932, to Harold and Verna (Hurst) Price at St. Mary Hospital in Walla Walla. She and her brother, Vance, grew up on the family farm on Jasper Mountain, outside of Waitsburg, riding horses and working harvests. She attended grade school for a time in a one room schoolhouse on the Coppei, before being sent on to school in Waitsburg. She graduated from Waitsburg High School in 1952, and attended Stephens College in Missouri.

Donna went to work for Pacific Northwest Bell in 1955. She met Orville "Skee" Keeney at Kramer's Boarding House in Walla Walla in the fall of 1956, and they were married in the Waitsburg Christian Church on March 31, 1957. They settled into a home on White Street in Walla Walla and daughter Teresa was born in 1958, followed by son Tom in 1959. They moved to California for a short time in 1963 while Skee attended trade school, and Donna worked for Aero- Jet General as a telephone operator.

In 1964, they returned to Waitsburg, moving out to the farm. In 1969, daughter Patricia was born, followed by son, Guy, in 1971. She was a pharmacy technician at St. Mary Hospital from 1977 to 1980. She drove school bus for the Waitsburg School District for many years, and was a faithful, colorful fan at Waitsburg School's sporting events.

Donna had a zest for life. She loved her children and had a special fondness for her son-in-law, Clint, who could always make her laugh.

Some of her happiest times later in life were spent on monthly visits with her daughter Teresa, son-in-law David, and grandson Brian, in Spokane and shopping. She loved to tell stories about growing up on the farm and the labor it took to bring in the harvest and was very proud of the fact that she was a 4^th generation farmer in the Walla Walla Valley.

Donna was a 56- year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a long-time member of Odako Club.

Donna leaves behind daughters Teresa (David) Luders and grandson Brian Luders, Patty (Clint) Froke, sons Tom (Julie) Keeney, Guy Keeney, and a brother, H. Vance Price. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Skee.

A warm and heartfelt thank you to her special friends and caregivers Blane and Allison Jackman at Comfort, Joy and Peace Adult Family Home.
