PARKS AND RECREATION LEVY

PRESCOTT -- Prescott area voters are reminded that operation of the Prescott swimming pool in 2012 depends on passage of the levy included in the general election ballot due Nov.8. A 60 percent supermajority is required for levy passage. Proposition Number 1 calls for a $110,000 maintenance and operation levy to fund the Prescott pool and park for 2012. Walla Walla County officials estimate this as $0.48 per $1,000.00 assessed value.

FLOOD PROJECT MONEY ON BALLOT

WAITSBURG - The City of Waitsburg is asking voters to approve $2 million worth of tax revenue bonds on the November ballot. Benefits to residents if passed would include fewer impacts from flooding events and possibly lowered flood insurance costs. The estimated cost would be $2 per $1,000 of assessed valuation for 20 years and would only be used for the flood project. For more information, call 337-6371.
