Students Of The Month

Congratulations to Grady Hutchens! He has the honor of being the first Starbuck Elementary Student of the month this year!

Grady is a second grader this year at Starbuck, and he is an excellent student. Grady has been in the Starbuck School for three years. Grady is an amazing student inside the classroom and out on the playground. In the classroom, he is working hard on doing three and four digit addition and subtraction, and is doing great. He is also learning to write summaries of what he is reading, and identify the main idea of different types of stories, such as myths, fairy tales and nonfiction. He is working on improving his handwriting, and is always trying his best in everything he does. Grady's teachers have commented that he is "a great worker, and never acts up in class." On the playground, Grady plays with all students, young and old.

Grady's character is also excellent. He recently received the "Fairness" character pendant in his classroom for working well and sharing with others.

In Mrs. Wooldridge's middle school class, Chase McClurg is the student of the month. Chase is new to our school this year and she is doing great. She is a fifth grader and enjoys many different things. She shows respect, responsibility and effort.

Chase loves learning about new things. She did a great job on her panda PowerPoint presentation and is improving on her public speaking.

One of Chase's favorite classes is math. She works really hard and is very organized. She even earned an A on her last test and continues to strive on the times tests.

Chase is also an excellent reader. With only a month into school, she already has 27 AR points. Right now she is busy reading a book about WWII and the holocaust.
