Olga Brown

Long- time Columbia County resident Olga Kathleen Brown passed away Oct. 29, 2011 at Dayton General Hospital. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mrs. Brown was born Oct. 17, 1924 in Athena, Ore., to George and Sarah Stretch Richardson. She attended schools in the Walla Walla area. She married Glen Brown on June 7, 1941 in Lewiston, Idaho. They lived in Walla Walla County and near Boardman, Ore., before moving to their farm near Dayton in March 1946.

Olga was a homemaker most of her life and enjoyed cooking and baking. She was well known for her pies, home made pastries and jellies and jams. She also worked part-time at Dorsey's Restaurant and Hotel for a number of years. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy in life.

She is survived by six children: Glen Brown Jr. of Los Angeles, California, Kathy and Fred Entze of Walla Walla, George Brown of Valdosta, Georgia, Bobby and Beryl Brown of Bouse, Ariz., Tom and Patty Brown of Walla Walla, and Ray Brown of Dayton, son-in-law Lupe Benavides of Dayton, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, seven greatgreat grandchildren, one sister, Margaret Barker of Anoka, Minn., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, daughter Susan Benavides, daughter in- law Irene Brown, Grandson Jay Brown, three sisters, Joyce, Wanita, and Ann, and three brothers Gordon, George and Tommy.
