Autumn Fanfare Concert Walla Walla Symphony 7:30 p.m. Whitman College This concert is the worldpremier performance by William Berry called "fantastic!: A Celebration of 25 Fantastic Years." It was composed in honor of Maestro Yaacov Bergman and his 25th anniversary with the symphony. Tickets are available online at www.wwsymphony.org and by calling the office at 509529-8020. The concert takes place in Cordiner Hall on the Whitman College campus.

Extended Performances, "Marilyn: Forever Blonde" Power House Theatre, Walla Walla Nov. 2 through 6 The one- woman show about the famed "sex goddess" will be in Walla Walla a bit longer. Standing ovations and standing room only have been a winning combination for the Pacific Northwest premiere at the Power House Theatre in Walla Walla. Five more performances have been added due to popular demand.

Dumas Station Autumn Release Nov. 4, 1-4 p.m. Nov. 5, 3-5 p.m. The new 2009 Cow Catcher Red has been released. The tasting will take place at 36229 Hwy 12 Dayton, Wash.

Art by L.A. Fairbanks Mace Mead Works 5 to 7 p.m. Walla Walla artist L.A. Fairbanks will showcase her prints and photography at the mead works through the month of November. A reception with the artist will be held at 250 E. Main St., in Dayton from 5 to 7 p.m. Information, 509-540-0000.

Star Party Whitman Mission 6 p.m. Star Party at Whitman Mission The Whitman Mission and Whitman College astronomy students will be hosting a star party ,. Starting at 6 p.m., there will be a 30-minute presentation, "Astronomy Through Your Own Eyes," which will focus on what can be seen in the autumn sky. After , the group will head outside to search for constellations and look through telescopes. If it is cloudy, astronomy club members will give an inside workshop on how to set-up and use small telescopes. In either case, feel free to bring your own telescope or binoculars. Whitman Mission is located 7 miles west of Walla Walla off U.S. Highway 12. The Visitor Center is open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Park grounds are open until dark. Community Open House Delany Room, Dayton Memorial Library 5 to 7 p.m. The Dayton Development Task Force invites the public to review the proposed longterm plan for the Commercial Street Corridor. At a later date, ideas will be prioritized for implementation. Information, call 509-382-4860. The Library is located at 111 S. 3rd St. in Dayton.

Veteran's Day Assembly, Speaker Karen Fisher-Alaniz 2:30 p.m.

Waitsburg High School WHS's Veteran's Day assembly features speaker Karen Fisher-Alaniz, author of the book "Breaking the Code." Her father is a Waitsburg High School graduate and a World War II veteran. He told her his war stories all her life. She states that she didn't learn until much, much later when she discovered the stories he'd told were just a small part of his experience. The assembly will be held Thursday, November 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the Waitsburg High School gymnasium. People will be able to purchase her book after the presentation and she will have a book signing as well.

Veterans Breakfast Dayton American Legion Hall 7 to 10 a.m. This special breakfast is open to all veterans as well as their family and friends. Breakfast is free and donations are accepted.

Nevada Slim and Cimarron Sue Tuxedo Bar & Grill 6 to 8 p.m. This live music performance will be held in Prescott at the Tuxedo. Information, 509-849-2244.

Christian Women's Connection Lunch

11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Seneca Activity Center, Dayton

This lunch and auction costs $10 and is catered by Ruth Shearer. Sue Ann Haberly is the inspirational speaker. Please bring something to donate to the annual auction that benefits Stonecroft Ministries. Please call Judy Jackson at 399-2005 to reserve your lunch and let her know if you need a babysitter.

"A Christmas Carol"

The Liberty Theater Nov. 18 through Dec. 3 This year's TVAC Productions fall musical is an adaptation of the classic Charles Dickens Christmas tale. It is written and directed by Mike Ferrians and Brenda Chapman. Tickets and information, 509-382-1380.

Annual Turkey Bingo Dayton Elementary School 4 to 9 p.m. The 25th annual Turkey Bingo competition will open its doors at 3 p.m. Hard cards are $1. Blackout flimsies are 50 cents. Bring an item for the food bank and receive a free flimsie, maximum of five. All winners receive a turkey. The event is sponsored by the Dayton Kiwanis. All money raised goes to local youth programs.

Livestock Judging Clinic Waitsburg Fairgrounds 9 a.m. to noon The Waitsburg Livestock Judging Clinic gives 4-H and FFA members a chance to judge the conformation of horses, beef, dairy, swine, sheep and goats. Group judging is encouraged. Participants receive a free lunch. Please RSVP large groups. Information, 509-33-6545.

Dayton's Christmas Kick-Off Nov. 25 and 26 Dayton: The Town That Still Believes. This event includes a fireworks show, lighted parade, a visit from Santa and Frosty, muledrawn hayrides and "A Christmas Carol" at the Liberty Theater. Also, Izzy the Camel will participate in this year's Living Nativity at the rear of Dingle's. There will also be a sing-along and coloring books. Information, 509- 382-4825.
