DAYTON - Skyler Glasby, of Dayton, pleaded not guilty to three counts of forgery and one count of third degree theft at the Walla Walla County Courthouse Monday.
Glasby is in custody in Walla Walla County for allegedly using counterfeit $20 bills. Glasby was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 30, at a mobile home on Plaza Way in Walla Walla after a 21- hour standoff with police. The standoff began at about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29 when Glasby and Joseph Dejesus, 20, fled arrest by the police and retreated into the mobile home. Police said both Glasby and Dejesus are known gang members.
Dejesus, also arraigned on Monday, pleaded not guilty to with seven counts of assault, drive-by shooting, unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree and riot.
Glasby is in jail with bail set at $10,000. Dejesus' bail is set at $200,000.
Glasby, a life-long Dayton resident, age 23, has an extensive criminal history in Columbia County.
Since Glasby was a teen, he has been convicted of burglary, malicious mischief, minor in possession of liquor, malicious harassment, driving under the influence, violating a protection order, escape and making false statements to police officers. For his crimes he has spent time in Columbia County Jail and with the Department of Corrections.
Glasby was found not guilty of a few crimes after trial in Columbia County. He was previously charged with unlawful imprisonment and rape and was found not guilty. Also, he was charged in 2006 with assault in the fourth degree and found not guilty.
On Monday, Glasby's lawyer said he is still serving out a 60-day jail term from Columbia County, related to his prior convictions.
Glasby's pre-trial hearing in the counterfeit money and theft case is scheduled in Walla Walla on Jan. 18. His trial date is set for Jan. 24.
Dejesus' pre-trial and trial dates are set for the same days.
