DAYTON -- The Dayton Lady Bulldogs chalked up another "W" last Saturday night defeating the Liberty Christian Patriots, 53-31.
The Bulldogs took a bite out of their competition forcing 17 steals and only turning the ball over 13 times while forcing 21 turnovers from the Patriots.
The Bulldogs grabbed the tipoff and it was game on from there.
Bul ldog Mal ia Frame snagged a half-court pass from the Patriots and took it all the way for two. Shelby Smith drew a Patriot offensive foul and Nicole Lambert followed that up with her first bucket.
Bulldog Courtney Fuller made up for that with a defensive rebound that she took the length of the court for two, and then put another one through the hoop after the Patriots were caught traveling.
Lexie Ramirez then found Jessica Tate down low for two and the Bulldogs were up 10-3 at the end of the first quarter.
It was Sarah Phillips who scored on an open fast-break lay-up, widening the Bulldog lead, 16-4.
The Patriots answered with a bucket of their own, but Lambert put one right back up for two. Frame answered that with a basket of her own to take the lead to 20-6.
The Patriots managed six unanswered points before Tate banked one in from down low followed by a bucket from Smith to give the Bulldogs a 24-12 halftime lead.
The Patriots then went on their biggest scoring spree of the night, sinking five unanswered baskets before the Bulldogs took a timeout.
Lambert then showed how it's done behind the three-point line and Tate sank a perimeter bank shot to take the Bulldog lead to 39-25 at the end of the third.
The Bulldogs face the De- Sales Fighting Irish on Irish home turf in Walla Walla with a 6 p.m. tipoff.
