Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

To the Editor,

The citizens of Dayton need to pass the school levies to keep our youth receiving the best education possible. Dayton students have been excelling in the Washington State standardized tests for many years. As an example, Dayton's 10th grade science students were ranked no. 2 in the state two years ago and continue to be 20 percent above the state average. To obtain these high academic levels, it has been a collaboration of strong administration, great teachers and young people who want to be the best. For Dayton schools to maintain this status, we need to keep our maintenance and operation strong, invest and maintain more technology tools and to update our valuable infrastructure. Our children are our future and an investment now pays off with high dividends in the future. Please support all of this year's school levies for the future of Dayton.
