Carol Coleman Hoffmann, 90, passed away February 21, 2012 at home.
Carol was born November 7, 1921 to Anna & Alexander Coleman in Laredo, Texas. Carol attended high school in Denton, Texas and graduated from Texas State College with a degree in Child Development and Sociology. On April 12, 1941 she married Curtis Hoffmann in Hollywood, California and moved back to Texas while her husband was away at the war. She returned to the farm near Eureka, Washington with Curtis after the war where they raised their family and lived the rest of their lives.
Carol was a dedicated member of the Prescott Presbyterian Church. She was involved in activities with children at school and extracurricular activities such as cub scouts, vacation bible school and other community functions with children. She was a member of the bridge club, Junior Club of Walla Walla, Aglow, Texas Women's University Alumni, National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution and Bible Study Fellowship.
Even though she lived in Washington most of her life, she considered herself a Texan with strong Southern pride. Carol enjoyed gardening particularly taking pride in her yellow roses, helping on the farm, caring for her family and the animals and was committed to the study of the Holy Scriptures and stood firm in her faith in God.
Carol is survived by a son and daughter-in law, Steven C. and Cynthia Hoffmann, Prescott; Two sister-in laws Phyllis Mann and Dorothy Hoffman, both of Walla Walla; One brother-in-law John Hoffman and his wife Sharon; Three grandchildren, Aaron S. Hoffmann, Sara Winona and her husband Jake, both of Prescott, and Jim Cranston and his wife Holly, La Grande; Six great-grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Hoffmann, Will, Curtis and Jess Winona, and Jack Cranston; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, three half-sisters, her husband, Curtis, and a daughter, Christina A "Tina" Hoffmann.
Viewing & visitation was held on Friday, February 24, at the Herring Groseclose Funeral Home, 315 W. Alder, Walla Walla, WA. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Prescott Community Church with Pastor Mike Wallace officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Prescott Community Church or the Christian Aid Center through the funeral home.
