Coppei Coffee St. Patty’s Event

WAITSBURG - Kate Hockersmith's annual St. Patty's Day party, which she started at her Waitsburg home some two decades ago, gave some of the former Blue Mountain Trouble Makers their debuts in front of friendly audiences.

As young tikes, John Hockersmith, Chris and Nick Carpenter and their friends would gather up the courage to perform a joke, a song or a dance as part of the fun-filled evening.

Now, Chris Carpenter, John Hockersmith and fellow Troublemaker Austin Beasley are continuing their youthful tradition with a performance at this Saturday night's St. Patty Day's bash (March 17) at the Coppei Café on 137 Main in Waitsburg in a sing-along "Irish" open mic .

Kate Hockersmith has invited other musicians to come and perform. Guitarist/singer Dr. Kyle Terry and Coppei Café owner Imbert Matthee too are brushing up on their Irish repertoire.

Hockersmith said she has decided to "move" her annual Irish party to the new café and hopes the spirit and anyone who even feels slightly Irish will transfer to the new venue, where the festivities begin at 7 p.m.
